I'd like to say thank you directly to Richard Patrick, but as I am in Minnesota and Richard is some place far, far away from me, I can't do that. So, instead, I'll settle for using a Consider This for it.

I can't say how much it means to have Richard comment on all the work that the Unofficial Webmasters(Mistresses) do and to give them thanks for that work. It just makes me happy that he's paying attention to us and giving us a note, however small that may be. A lot of other online fan clubs don't get that recognition that we have received today from Rich.

I know that Rich works very hard on his music for us to enjoy. That music helps us all to think a bit about ourselves in different ways than before we heard it and gives us a chance to listen to something with such honesty that it is a thank you enough to us as fans for such music. I know that Rich didn't have to extend that thank you to us, but he did. For that, I am grateful.

When I started this site I had no idea where it would take me. I had no idea who would catch on or whose attention I would get. Now that I write this, I know whose attention I did receive, indirectly or not. I don't run this site to get the attention of Rich, though it is nice to hear him say something about the unofficial sites that are out there. I didn't really ever think that my site would catch on at all, it being a little strange compared to the usual Filter or band sites out there.

Having heard Rich say this little note about our work though means something. It's not just a small note stating something, it's a note out of gratitude from Rich to us. It wasn't something he had to do,  but he did it anyways. I couldn't think of any other satisfaction I could receive from this site than knowing that I did something worthwhile to promote Filter and the messages that go with the music. It's just icing on the cake that Rich has left this note for us.

Thanks Rich! Keep up your own hard work so we have to keep up with you!

On a side note,  who all thought this was going to be about Rich's ASS! You naughty people you.
