Another Pre Filter Concert Ramble by the RFW 9/28/02

 

Well, it's that time again. . .I know it was only July since I went to my FIRST ever Filter show, but I'm going to the one in Minneapolis(granted if my tickets ever show up in the mail, that is. Slow ass Ticketmaster) so I thought I'd tell you my thoughts before I went to show, and well, to brag that I'm going. I'm honest enough to know it's bragging!!

Anyways, I have a remote idea this time what I'm walking into, although this time there is a little thing called the "Meet and Eat With Filter" bit this time around we didn't have last time. Ups your chances quite a bit in having a brush with the band, now doesn't it? Of course, there's always the possiblity one of the Filter boys might eat like a slob and I might not like to see that, but who am I kidding, it'd be great fodder for a Consider This if one of them did eat like a slob! Although I'm not even sure when this whole pizza mess is taking place. If it's Domino's I'm screwed! Long story short, it makes me sick.

As for the show, I'm sure it'll be worth the drive and the anxiety it's brought me with the whole "Where are the damn, motherfucking tickets!" I'm sure they'll be here by that 48 hours prior to show bit, but damn it, I'm getting a bit worried. I KNEW I should have coughed up the extra $20 for fast shipping. Silly me, I thought they could figure out HOW to stick two tickets into a damn envelope and put an address on it. Ooops. My mistake, huh? I'm done ranting for now.

Hmm. I can't say I've never seen Filter since you all know I have(see the post July show review thingy) so I can't blab about how I don't know what they sound like. . .but I don't know what they'll sound like this TIME now will I. At least not until I go, huh? I'm sure it'll be a great show. I don't know if I'll mosh this time or not, that's sorta decided as you enter near the pit, but I think I'll be considerably close to the stage somehow, someway, sometime during the whole mess. I mean, why not? I paid to go. Why not enjoy myself? Although, since I have to go to class and work the days after the show, moshing might not be the best idea in the whole world. I couldn't walk right for three days after the first one!

Now, at the FDG,(for those of you who don't visit there but really SHOULD) there is a thing called the Concert Hookup and it's all about fans meeting up at shows. This time around, I just may end up meeting someone. I'm not saying it's gonna be a certainity, since nothing in life is, but it's highly probable. I mean, why not? It'd be cool to meet a fellow Miinnesotan Filter Fan. And to boot, this one's male! What a deal. What ever the outcome, it'll probably be exciting none the less. I'm not afraid of meeting new people. . .sometimes. It'll be exciting and I'll be sure to tell you all about that, much as the last time I told you about the highlights leading up to the show and after it and the joy we all had reading that one, right? If you didn't, why on earth are you still reading???!!! Huh?? I want an answer, damn it! That's if your'e still reading. .yeah.

Wednesday morning will be exciting(Yes I know the show is in the evening) besides the fact that I'll be asleep and not in class. Speaking of class, I get to miss Basic Chemistry!!! Nothing and I mean nothing is more exciting than Chemistry. . .or not. Lord knows I live for science classes. It's just so exciting. M'eh. Like I want to sit through boring ass Chemistry when I can go see Filter live. As if I'd stay home! Sheesh. Not only do I get to miss icky Chem, I get to miss Speech class. Good thing I'm giving my speech on Monday so I don't have to go in on Wednesday at 9:30 to listen to some boring speeches and get anxious to give mine cause I'll be anxious to go to the Filter show. . .

Anyways, before I do bore all of you to tears with my "pre-concert" ramble, I'll see you next week, hopefully AFTER the Filter concert that I did go to. Sigh. Ticketmaster, get your ASS in GEAR! It's not that hard. Put the tickets into an envelope, seal it and put an address(mine) on the front and a stamp. Oh and don't forget to put it in the damn mail box to send out! Sheesh. Monkees run the damn place, I swear! Sigh. I'm done. See you next week!
