Well I'm not going to tell you!! Nope. Nadda. Of course I'll tell you. I was thinking earlier today that it'd be awful neat if Filter released a live DVD/VHS and hell why not a CD version, too. I know, I know. .it'll make Filter look like NIN copy cats, but who cares? I'm not saying it has to be EXACTLY like the And All That Could Have Been package. Hear me out first.

1. Have tons of live footage, sequenced just like a single live show that isn't from one concert. That way even if you haven't ever been to a single Filter show in your entire life, you can sit down, stick in the DVD/VHS and pretend you are actually there and actually have seen Filter. And, to boot, it allows those of us who have seen Filter once or twice or tons of times to relive something from the experience we had. It'd be a neat memento of the Filter Era we are in right now, too. It'd be a nice little thing to own for any Filter fan, I tell ya.

2. Have an aside on the DVD/VHS of just backstage mayhem. Tons of footage of the boys at their best/worst/whatever doing things they like to do. Watch them kid around, play video games, even sleep! Just random things in the backstage realm. The things they do backstage seem to be funny and entertaining to say the least, not to mention down right silly. Why not have something to that effect? It'd be on both the DVD and VHS, at the end of the concert. Except on the DVD if you wanted to skip the concert portion for whatever reason and chose to watch the backstage portion you could due to a menu thingy that I've noticed comes in handy on other DVDs.

3. DVD Exclusives. Ah, those things that make crazy, obsessive people buy DVD players. These can be random back stage things that didn't make the backstage portion, live footage that didn't quite make the cut that is still entertaining, and for the hell of it, possibly a small interview portion. A bit of a Whatever Album Four is Titled EPK would be cool for the DVD itself. It'd be something that'd be neat, but not limited to the DVD only.

4. This is where the Live CD comes into play. Not only can it be a live cd with music that is the audio of the DVD/VHS concert portion, you'd have enhancements(sorta like the Amalgamut). The EPK could be included or some sort of other videos and some sorts.

5. Both the VHS and DVD should carry every single Filter video ever made that aired on MTV, and those like Dose that did not as well. It'd be a great to own all the videos in one small library up to that point instead of having them scattered amongst Phenomenology, Title of DVD and those some of us have taped off of the TV. It'd be easier to key up a video on the DVD of course, but it's better than having to switch tapes, from VHS to DVD and what have you. I know I'd enjoy the heck outta the collection of all the videos in one convenient place!

6. The art work. Hmm. I know a lot of people had major beefs with the Amalgamut's artwork, and I can understand that. Rather than making the package flashy(since it's what is inside that counts) make the outside one solid color(ie: red, green, yellow, whatever) and one kick ass Filter logo on the front. It'd be snazy, neat and tidy and not loud or obnoxious. And, it'd draw enough attention in by having the logo on the solid background to get people's interest without the flash of a big picture of the band on the front blaring out at passerbys. As for inside artwork, hmm. Keep that solid color as well, with perhaps ONE photo of the band centered in the inner cover(DVD of course). For the VHS provide the photo with the linear notes. And, you can release a set of the DVDs in the single colors for some variety. Some people really like red and some really like green. Let them pick their fave color to buy. It'd make it more personal to the fans. But limit it to about four to five colors or it's just ridiculous.

7. Little inserts would be nice. Really. Like a mini concert program of where the footage was taken, how it was taken and why. Some little notes about the tour, the production and such would be cool, too. It'd also make that concert experience that the DVD/VHS is set out to provide that much more fun. You'd have to decide if you like the idea of that, but I'd think it'd be awfully neat. My only problem is I tend to lose things like that. But that's just my awful luck.

Well, now I realllllly want this FAKE DVD. Gee, I really shot myself in the foot this time. I just think it'd be a very neat thing for Filter to do. And, with all of the special features above, it'd become something unique and new. It'd be totally Filter and totally for the fans because it'd be something that both had shared(the concerts and such). Who knows, maybe Filter will do something like this some time. I know I'd be excited if they did!!
